Complacency is our Opponent
After reading this recent article from Gideon 6ix;
Gideon 6ix’s quote “Our leaders told us complacency kills more than anything else” is something we all need to be reminded of!
Set your goal, prepare an action plan, schedule the time frame, and perform the required work to accomplish that goal! A common example for an athlete is to work hard over an off-season to become a “starter” the following season!
Congratulations! All of the hard work paid off! You busted your but all off-season, plus weeks of team conditioning, pre-season practice, and scrimmages. As of the first game of the season you have earned a starting roster spot! Time to celebrate! You deserve to celebrate! You set a goal, followed the plan, and accomplished said goal! Your parents are proud! Family and other teammates are congratulating you! The coaching staff is appreciative of your improvement from the previous season! You are riding an athletic high at this moment! Enjoy the moment! The way you respond to being named a starter will determine how long this athletic high lasts!
